Healthy Plant Based recipes that make you look and feel great

What's In My Kitchen?

An important part of living a healthy lifestyle is filling your fridge and your kitchen with good food. It's impossible to cook good food if your fridge is empty!

The most important part is having lots of fruit and vegetables and I suggest buying these in smaller amounts during the week, rather than buying them all at once. In my family we buy bananas almost daily, but we also restock on fruit and vegetables once or twice during the week, as well as going to the supermarket on the weekend, that way everything stays fresh.

Fruit and vegetables are important, but you also want to keep up your stocks of grains, nuts, seeds and protein, as well as essential spices for flavour. This is a list of the foods I most commonly buy and have in my kitchen. I don't buy all of this every single week, but this is a general overview of the sorts of foods I commonly purchase in order to cook the recipes you'll find on my blog.

I suggest going through the list and finding something on there that you have never tried before and giving it a go!

I also have a list at the end of all my favourite health foods/superfoods that I like to use. I don't suggest going out and purchasing them all at once, but it gives you an insight on new superfoods to try out next time you visit the health food store. I've bought my health foods over a period of a year, and I've slowly built up a large collection! Because they are so potent, you only need a small amount of each, and despite them being expensive, I treat them as an investment in my health and well being.

I buy my health food products from a variety of places- the supermarket, from my local health food store or from Wholefoods in London when I go there. My favourite online stockist is from "Buy Wholefoods Online". It has all the superfood powders, porridge toppings, organic dried fruit and baking goods I need, a lot of which are hard to source locally.
