Raw Chocolate Sauce

By Sunday, September 15, 2013 , , , , , , ,

This sauce turns ordinary pancakes into a divine creation. There's not really much else to say other than this is heaven in gooey, chocolately form. It's perfect for any dessert, to add a whole other level of deliciousness.
You will need:

1/2 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp mesquite powder (optional)
1-2 tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 tbsp coconut oil

Fill a bowl halfway with boiling water, then place a smaller glass bowl inside to form a water bath. Add the coconut oil and allow it to melt in, the add the cacao powder, liquid sweetener and mesquite powder and mix well to get rid of any lumps. Then drizzle on top of your pancakes, cake or ice cream and enjoy!

    1. Probably? I've never tried because I don't eat it, but I suppose?

  3. Could I use cocoa powder instead of cacao? I know it wouldn't make it raw anymore, but would it still taste the same?
